Your community's leadership are taking evidence-based steps to improve the safety of our privately-owned roads for all residents and invited pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. This initiative also aims to mitigate the risks created by speeding and reduce the presence of unauthorized users on our roads. Safety remains everyone’s responsibility.
To support this effort, this summer the Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation (BHMC) and Barton Hills Village (BHV) jointly funded an independent traffic study by TechPro, a third-party consultant specializing in traffic control and enforcement for communities. The study was designed to improve safety and quality of life in Barton Hills, not to advance any predetermined approach. The Joint Roads Committee presented an executive summary of TechPro's Final Report at the October 7th BHMC Board meeting, and again at the October 13th Trustee meeting.
